We Drive the Deployment of Ethical Industrial AI across the West

European Initiative Industry 4.0 certifies industrial AI systems, training programs, and professionals prepared to ensure AI empowers workers instead of replacing them, remains safe and controllable, and drives a new reindustrialization of the West with human-empowerment AI at the core of this transformation.

What is European Initiative Industry 4.0?

European Initiative Industry 4.0 is an independent, non-profit organization of European origin with the capacity to fund ethical industrial AI projects across Europe and the entire Americas. For a decade, our goal has been to drive the development of Industry 4.0 projects in the West that demonstrate the advantages of "human-empowerment AI" versus replacive AI systems. By consolidating all the characteristics of this type of industrial AI systems into a new software category called IRIS.

Funded primarily by private capital committed to responsible industrial transformation, complemented by public funds and institutional cooperation, we embody European principles: human dignity, social protection, and sustainable industrial competitiveness.

The Three Principles We Guarantee

The Initiative responds to three fundamental tensions in today's industrial landscape. We are guardians of these principles in every certification we issue.

πŸ‘₯

Human-Centric AI: Empowerment vs Replacement

We prevent social crisis from abrupt job displacement by AI. We certify only AI that first improves worker productivity, then automates gradually and collaboratively, and always includes reskilling plans. AI must enhance human capability, not blindly replace it.

  • Enhanced positions with better interfaces and reduced cognitive load
  • Mandatory reskilling pathways for operators and technicians
  • Explicit measurement of labor impact for each project
πŸ›‘οΈ

Safety AI: Preventing Existential Risks

We ensure industrial AI doesn't spiral out of control. Especially in factories, where AI is connected to production, quality, and maintenance, we demand clear safety architecture: AI proposes, industrial control systems decide, with full traceability.

  • Clear separation between AI layers and industrial control layers
  • Human-in-the-loop for critical production and safety decisions
  • Exhaustive audit and logging of all decisions and data
🏭

Western Reindustrialization with Human-Empowerment AI

We enable production to return to Europe and America. With human-empowerment AI at the core of this industrial transformation. IRIS-certified AI makes it possible to manufacture close to the customer with quality jobs, without sacrificing safety or social cohesion.

  • Quantifiable improvements in productivity, OEE, quality, and lead time
  • Scalability across multiple plants and countries
  • Compatibility with sector regulations (health, automotive, aerospace)

What We Certify

The Initiative certifies three interconnected areas to create a complete ecosystem of ethical industrial AI. Every certification guarantees alignment with our three core principles.

1

Industrial AI Systems

IRIS 14000 Certification Family

We certify industrial AI platforms and software, ensuring they are technically robust, respect Safety AI principles, include traceability mechanisms, and have considered labor impact.

  • Security and control architecture evaluation
  • Data, models, and traceability assessment
  • Human-in-the-loop and industrial usability verification
  • Employment and organizational impact analysis

Professionals

IRIS Professional Certification

We certify professionals at four levels, ensuring they can implement industrial AI projects with "human empowerment" values, reindustrialization mindset, and IRIS system expertise.

  • Associate: Advanced operators, technicians
  • Professional: Process engineers, data scientists
  • Expert: AI architects, IT/OT managers
  • Leader: Operations directors, transformation leads

The IRIS Observatory

The IRIS Observatory is the strategic and technical body of the Initiative. It monitors the evolution of industrial AI in the West, detects risks, identifies best practices, and publishes authoritative reports.

Periodically, the Observatory publishes reports on the absorption rate of IRIS technology by industry β€” a new category of industrial AI systems (Industrial Reality Intelligence Systems) designed to understand shop floor reality in real-time and convert it into actionable decisions.

  • Annual IRIS Reports on industrial AI adoption
  • Employment impact indicators
  • Safety AI alerts and technical recommendations
  • Best practices for fair transition in factories

Our Goal: Prevent AI from Dividing the West

The social good that European Initiative Industry 4.0 pursues is to prevent industrial AI from dividing the West, and instead convert it into a lever for qualified employment, safety, and competitive reindustrialization.

We are not competitors to ISO β€” we position ourselves above, in our niche, as the specific standard for industrial AI that can coexist with ISO 9001, 27001, 45001, etc.

"A company with IRIS 14000 certification can comply with ISO, but an ISO-certified company does not necessarily meet IRIS requirements."

Ready to Join the Ethical Industrial AI Movement?

Whether you're a manufacturer evaluating AI solutions, a training institution designing programs, or a professional seeking certification β€” we're here to help you align with the future of responsible industrial AI.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is European Initiative Industry 4.0?

European Initiative Industry 4.0 is an independent, non-profit organization that serves as the trusted authority for ethical industrial AI in the West. It certifies industrial AI systems, training programs, and professionals to ensure human-centric AI that prevents social crisis from job displacement and enables Western reindustrialization.

What are the three principles the Initiative guarantees?

The Initiative is guardian of three fundamental principles: 1) Human-centric AI (empowerment vs replacement) to prevent social crisis from abrupt job displacement, 2) Safety AI to ensure industrial AI doesn't pose existential risks especially in factory environments, and 3) Driving a new Western reindustrialization with human-empowerment AI at the core of this transformation.

What does the Initiative certify?

The Initiative certifies three interconnected areas: Industrial AI systems (IRIS 14000 family) ensuring technical robustness and ethical alignment; training programs and masters in industrial AI that include Safety AI and human impact modules; and professionals at four levels (Associate, Professional, Expert, Leader) who are trained to implement industrial AI with our core values.

What is the IRIS Observatory?

The IRIS Observatory is the strategic and technical body of the Initiative. It monitors industrial AI adoption in the West, publishes annual reports on IRIS technology absorption rates in industry, tracks employment impact, and issues Safety AI alerts and recommendations for critical sectors like health, automotive, and energy.

How does IRIS certification differ from ISO?

IRIS doesn't compete with ISO β€” it positions itself above, in the specific niche of industrial AI. While ISO covers generic management systems, IRIS covers the technical, social, and ethical essence of industrial AI. A company with IRIS 14000 can comply with ISO, but an ISO-certified company does not necessarily meet IRIS requirements. In sectors like health, where software certification is already required, IRIS certification is becoming a preferred filter for industrial AI providers.
