Absolute Specialization
We don't certify anything that isn't industrial AI. No environmental, no generic quality. 100% of our expertise is in AI for industry. This makes us more rigorous and thorough than any generalist certifier.
European Initiative 4.0 offers the most specialized and rigorous certification system for the industrial AI ecosystem: software, training, professionals, and companies. Where others certify generalities, we certify specific excellence in industrial AI.
AENOR and ISO certifications are excellent for generic management systems. But when it comes to industrial AI, you need certifiers who truly understand the technology, its risks, and its impact.
We don't certify anything that isn't industrial AI. No environmental, no generic quality. 100% of our expertise is in AI for industry. This makes us more rigorous and thorough than any generalist certifier.
Every IRIS certification guarantees: Human-Centric AI (empowerment over replacement), Safety AI (AI under human control), and support for Western Reindustrialization. No other certifier evaluates these criteria.
Our evaluators come from the industrial world: operations, production, maintenance, quality. We speak the factory language, not the language of desk auditors.

| IRIS-EDU 21040 | Safety AI Training | Specific programs on industrial AI safety and ethics |
| IRIS-EDU 21050 | Industrial Reskilling Training | Plant personnel conversion programs toward AI |
The program must include AI applied to real factory processes, not just generic machine learning theory.
Mandatory to include content on safe architectures, historical incidents, and AI governance.
Training in change management, AI-assisted job design, and reskilling strategies.
Application projects with data and scenarios from real or highly realistic industrial plants.
For professionals wanting to train and certify in Industrial AI
IRIS-PRO certifications accredit individual professionals' competencies in industrial AI. Unlike generic certifications, IRIS-PRO is specifically designed by operational role in the plant, so each department gets exactly the training and certification it needs.
Fundamental knowledge of industrial AI and IRIS principles.
Profile: Advanced operators, technicians, team leaders.
Ability to participate in plant AI projects.
Profile: Process engineers, data analysts, specialized technicians.
Design and leadership of IRIS solutions in factories.
Profile: AI architects, automation managers, technical leaders.
AI transformation leadership at plant or group level.
Profile: Operations directors, innovation leads, digital transformation executives.
Each plant department has specific AI needs. That's why we offer function-specialized certifications:
For CEOs, general managers, and plant managers
For operations directors and managers
For production managers, supervisors, foremen
For maintenance managers and technicians
For quality managers and technicians

For Lean specialists, Black Belts, consultants
For industrial HR directors and technicians
For safety and prevention managers
For systems managers, industrial IT, OT
For industrial companies wanting to train and certify their teams
IRIS-CORP certifications allow industrial companies to comprehensively certify their teams in industrial AI. Unlike individual certification (IRIS-PRO), IRIS-CORP certifies that the organization has a team prepared to adopt and manage industrial AI safely and ethically.
| IRIS Code | Program | Description |
|---|---|---|
| IRIS-CORP 30001 | AI-Ready Company | Base certification: executive and technical team with basic IRIS training |
| IRIS-CORP 30010 | AI-Ready Plant | Plant personnel (operations, production, maintenance) IRIS-PRO certified |
| IRIS-CORP 30020 | Certified AI Team | Internal AI team with IRIS-PRO Expert certification |
| IRIS-CORP 30030 | Integral AI Transformation | Entire organization with IRIS-PRO certifications by role |
| IRIS-CORP 30040 | Corporate Safety AI | Safety, quality, and compliance teams with Safety AI training |
The Initiative doesn't compete with AENOR or ISO standards. We position ourselves above, in our specific niche, as the reference standard for industrial AI.
| Aspect | AENOR / ISO | IRIS (European Initiative 4.0) |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | Generalist: quality, environment, safety, IT... | 100% specialized in industrial AI |
| Software | ISO 25000: generic software quality | IRIS 14000: industrial AI with Safety AI and human-centric |
| Training | ISO 21001: generic educational management | IRIS-EDU: specific industrial AI training |
| People | ISO 17024: generic auditor certification | IRIS-PRO: AI experts by plant role |
| Evaluators | Management system auditors | Experts with real industry and AI experience |
| Principles | Standard conformity | Human-centric + Safety AI + Reindustrialization |
| Labor impact | Not specifically evaluated | Mandatory evaluation criterion |
"A company with IRIS certification can comply with ISO, but an ISO-certified company doesn't necessarily meet IRIS requirements for industrial AI."
Whether you're a software company, training center, individual professional, or industrial company, we have the right IRIS certification for you.
No, they complement them. If your AI software needs ISO 25000, it's still valid. IRIS 14000 adds a specific layer of assurance for industrial AI: Safety AI, human-centric, labor impact. You can have both certifications, and that's actually ideal: ISO for general conformity, IRIS for industrial AI excellence.
IRIS-PRO certifies individual people: their knowledge and competencies in industrial AI for their specific role. IRIS-CORP certifies the company as an organization: that it has a prepared team, defined processes, and internal capabilities to adopt AI responsibly. A company can have IRIS-PRO certified employees without having IRIS-CORP, but IRIS-CORP requires a minimum of IRIS-PRO certified personnel.
IRIS 14000 is specifically designed for AI software applied to industrial environments. If your software has industrial application (even if it also has other uses), you can certify it for that scope. If it's exclusively for other sectors (retail, services, etc.), IRIS isn't the right certification - in that case we'd recommend ISO 25000 or other alternatives.
It depends on the type: software certifications (IRIS 14000) typically 3-6 months depending on complexity. Training program certifications (IRIS-EDU) 2-4 months. Professional certifications (IRIS-PRO) include prior training and exam, usually 1-3 months. Corporate certifications (IRIS-CORP) are longer projects, 6-12 months depending on scope.
Yes. European Initiative 4.0 has transatlantic reach (Europe and America). IRIS certifications are progressively being adopted as reference in advanced industrial sectors: automotive, aerospace, pharmaceutical, food. Our goal is for IRIS to be the de facto standard for ethical industrial AI globally.
Excellent starting point. ISO management system certifications are compatible and complementary with IRIS. In fact, personnel with ISO background will find it easier to understand IRIS structure. We offer accelerated pathways for professionals who already have relevant ISO certifications.
